ABASTONE EP-30 is a two-component solvent free adhesive which is based on epoxy resin and modified polyamines hardeners with very low viscosity and suitable curing time. Excellent penetration into the all types of stone cracks, while having a strong adhesion to the substrate, has made it an ideal choice in stone industry. ABASTONE EP-30 has a very good UV and yellowing resistance.
Due to the amount of porosity and unevenness of the working surfaces, this amount will be about 100 to 200 grams per square meter.
APPLICATION
Material is supplied in two containers as one unit. Always mix a complete unit in the proportion supplied. Once the unit has been mixed it must be used within the working pot life specified.
1-Combine entire contents of curing agent (part B) with base (part A) and mix thoroughly with power agitator.
2-Mix thoroughly for at least three minutes, scraping the container bottom and side to assure complete mixing.
Apply desired mix over the stone surface using trowel or brush. Product application frequency should be adjusted by the depth and surface of the cracks. Continue applying the product until the cracks fill. If you want the material to cure faster, you can preheat the stone slabs.
The exothermic characteristic of epoxy curing reactions may cause rapid temperature rise of mixture, which result low workability of material. To obtain longer workability, the mixed adhesive may be divided into portions.
- In hot weather, the temperature of the material should be between 20 and 25°C prior to mixing. Otherwise, the POT LIFE will be too short.
- Do not thin for any reason.
- In cold weather, in case of hardening material, heat it indirectly.
- When the surface temperature is less than 10°C, do not apply the material.
- Mix only that quantity which can be used within its pot life.
