DESCRIPTION
ABABOND EP-20 is a solvent-free, two components concrete bonding agent, based on modified epoxy resins and especially designed hardeners. It provides a bond of far greater strength than the tensile strength of the concrete itself. Therefore, it is suitable for use wherever structural bonding of new to existing concrete is carried out. it meets all the requirements of the standard ASTM C882.
SURFACE PREPARATION
All surfaces must be clean, free from frost standing water and all loosely adhering particles. Cement laitance must be removed and the surfaces to be treated must be mechanically roughened.
MIXING
Mix component A and B separately with a mixing paddle attached to a slow speed electric drill (max. 600 RPM). Add component B to component A and mix with the mixing paddle for 3 minutes until the material becomes smooth in consistency and color. Avoid entrapping air.
APPLICATION
After mixing apply directly to the prepared substrate by brush, roller or spray. On damp surfaces, ensure that it is well brushed in. Pour new concrete within specified open time, as long as material is still tacky.
DOSAGE
The optimum dosage of ABABOND EP-20 to meet specific requirements depends on porosity and roughness of the substrate. the dosage range for normal substrates is from 0.3 to 0.8 kg/m2.
