ABATILESET adheres to all solid, load-bearing, clean, dry and moist surfaces free of substances which can cause separation. Remove any coatings with inadequate bonding strength. Depressions of up to 5mm depth can be repaired with ABATILESET the day before. Prime absorbent substrates such as calcium sulphate screeds, lightweight concrete, plasterboards and gypsum plasters, sandwich type and fibrous plasterboards with E.M.BOND. Allow the priming coat to dry for approx. 4 hours.
FIELD OF APPLICATION
ABATILESET is suitable for placing and laying ceramic tile coverings (water absorption higher than 3 percent) indoors on absorbent substrates, even in wet areas.
Stir ABATILESET into clean, clear water until it is completely free of lumps. Approx. 5.5 l of water are needed to prepare 25 kg of ABATILESET. Leave to mature for approx. 5 minutes and stir again. Apply the mortar according to the recognized rules of the thin-bed method. The skin formation time has always to be tested before applying the tiles. Apply by a notched spreader with suitable toothing to insure a contact area between mortar and tile of at least 65%. Fresh excess mortar can be removed with water, once hardened material can only be removed mechanically. Ready for grouting after 24 hours.
