Underwater Concrete Structure Repair
- Posted by : Business Development Unit of Abadgaran Company
Underwater concrete is a specialized type of high-performance concrete widely used in modern construction, particularly for bridges, dams, and structures with foundations built underwater. Unlike conventional concrete, underwater concrete requires distinct placement techniques due to its different properties, ensuring successful application in submerged conditions.
Recently, a new material called geopolymer has gained attention as a green alternative binder to ordinary Portland cement (OPC). This interest stems from its environmentally friendly production process. Multiple studies have confirmed that geopolymers exhibit strength and chemical resistance comparable to OPC. However, research on the use of geopolymer for underwater concreting is still limited, and further investigation is necessary to explore its full potential in such applications.
